Kim is a Registered Practical Nurse with seven years of nursing experience across long-term care and a hospital medical/surgical unit. She transitioned to foot care because she values the one-on-one time with clients and the ability to build real, long-term relationships. As a clinical educator, she creates a supportive learning environment and encourages students to think critically about treatment options and patient needs.
Canada's largest senior population needs more skilled foot care nurses.
The opportunity in the GTA
The Greater Toronto Area is home to over 1.4 million adults aged 65+, with diabetes rates climbing and waitlists for podiatry and foot care stretching weeks or months. Despite the city's size, qualified Advanced Foot Care Nurses are in short supply — especially for in-home and long-term care visits.
For nurses building a foot care business in Toronto, this means strong demand across diverse, multicultural communities, ample LTC and retirement residence partnership potential, and a proven path to a full caseload within months of launch. Training here also means learning inside one of Ontario's most established foot care practices, with exposure to both clinic-based and mobile/home care models.
