Brussels / Goderich / Kincardine / Hanover, Ontario

Rachel brings 13 years of nursing experience, primarily in the hospital setting, to her foot care practice. After moving to a rural community in Southwestern Ontario and recognising a significant need for accessible nursing foot care, she completed her advanced foot care training in 2023 and opened Healthy Steps Footcare in July 2024. In just over a year, Rachel has grown to serve more than 100 regular clients, established long-term care contracts, and developed three seniors' foot care clinics operating on weekly and biweekly schedules, in addition to mobile home visits. She is passionate about continuing to expand her clinical knowledge and sharing what she has learned as she grows into her next chapter as a nurse and educator.

Why Train in Huron & Bruce County

A proven rural growth model, built in real time — and a market with real, sustained demand.

The opportunity across Huron & Bruce County

Brussels, Goderich, Kincardine, and Hanover sit at the heart of one of Southwestern Ontario's most classically underserved healthcare corridors — a mix of small towns and farming communities along the Lake Huron shoreline with a well-established senior population and limited access to specialised care. Communities across Huron and Bruce County consistently report difficulty finding qualified foot care providers, particularly ones offering long-term care facility contracts and mobile home visits.

Training with Rachel gives you something rare: a real-time case study in building a foot care practice from zero. In just over a year, she went from newly certified to serving 100+ regular clients, securing LTC contracts, and running three separate seniors' clinics. For nurses who want to understand exactly how to launch and scale a rural practice quickly, Rachel's own experience is the clearest example available anywhere in our network.
