Completed foot care training some time ago
Have outdated skills or limited recent practice
Took the course previously but never actively practiced
Are returning to foot care nursing and want to feel safe, confident, and current
The AFCN Clinical Refresher Program combines self-paced online theory with one full day of hands-on clinical education, allowing nurses to refresh both knowledge and practical skills in a structured, supportive environment.
Participants will complete updated theory modules designed to refresh and reinforce:
Advanced foot care principles and best practices
Assessment and clinical decision-making
Medical reprocessing and infection control standards
Product knowledge and proper use of foot care tools
Safety, scope, and professional accountability
The online portion allows nurses to review essential concepts at their own pace before attending the clinical day.
Participants will attend one full day of in-person clinical education at an AFCN-approved clinical partner location.
During the clinical day, nurses will:
Review and practice core foot care skills
Refine technique and clinical flow
Ask questions and troubleshoot common challenges
Rebuild confidence in a real clinical setting
Clinical scheduling will be arranged directly with an AFCN Clinical Instructor, following the same process used for new student clinical placement.
